Round Three Scoring:

Base 1 Base 2 Base 3 Base 4

I picked the scene where Snape confronts Sirius in the Shrieking Shack and kind of has a melt down. He's been waiting so long to have the upper hand on Sirius and Remus, but perhaps more so Sirius than anyone else. There's a point where he whispers the text "Vengeance is very sweet" and I wanted to kind of capture that moment of tension. Where the animosity between the two bubbles to the surface and Snape is willing to let Sirius rot in jail, not for the supposed crime he committed, but the crimes that Sirius committed against him when they were youngsters.

This line pretty much captures the essence of Snape and his tendency to focus on his experiences and how people treat him instead of seeing the bigger picture and not holding a grudge. I love the images you chose here- Sirius very wild and bedraggled, not yet recovered from Azkaban; and Snape fully composed and dangerous. It makes a good comparison and explains well the story you wanted to convey. Your cutting and blending of Sirius on the right is great, the only thing I would suggest is using larger images, as it is more difficult to make color tones and brightness when image quality is poor, which happens the more you enlarge an image. The text here is eye-catching in both color and placement, as if hanging between the men in challenge.

This is where Snape was insulted by the Marauder's Map.

I love how striking this is! The contrast of the black background and the whiteness of the map is very eye-catching and artistically done. Snape is looking most displeased at all those names floating around him. The only thing I knocked off half a point for was Snape on the far right. Really good cutting, just don't be afraid to resharpen the edges and clean it up afterwards. :)

Here is Professor Snape brewing the Wolfsbane Potion for Lupin. This is my first ever graphic made with Gimp!

This is really great for a first Gimp graphic, Maltrix! :) I know my first attempt was absolutely dismal, nowhere near as refined as this is. A lot of graphics are rounded out by text, though I support the decision in this case not to have any, as there isn't much in the way of direct spoken quotes concerning these scene. The only thing then is filling in blank spaces, in this case the top of the banner.

Round Four Scoring:

AmyLeah-

1, 2, 3, 4

This is not really a scene, but more a simple embodiment (I hope) of Fleur.  The background pic on the left is of the Pyrenees, which is where Beauxbatons is located.  The background pic on the right is the maze where the final task of the Tournament took place.  I tried to show Fleur as being excited and having fun when she first traveled to Hogwarts, ready to take on the TriWizard tournament.  The second pic of Fleur shows her determination to win & to be a good representation of her school.

I love how this graphic seems to move. There is something going on no matter where you look, not a speck of white or dead space anywhere! The cutting around the center Fluer is really impressive, very clean and smooth. :)

Maltrix-
The Triwizard Champion I chose is Cedric Diggory, and this graphic is of him at the beginning of the second task, when he uses the Bubble-Head Charm to be able to breathe underwater.

Bases: 1, 2

I think it's hard to portray people underwater, but you did a good job here. :) Cedric looks like he is sinking into the depths of the lake; and the bubble charm looks like it's fogging up from his breath, very realistic. ^_^ Don't forget to round out your graphics with text and textures, especially in larger banners such as this one.

Round Five Scoring:

AmyLeah-

1, 2, 3, 4

The text is paraphrased from this quote: “There is no shame in what you are feeling, Harry,' said Dumbledore's voice. 'On the contrary... the fact that you can feel pain like this is your greatest strength.”  Also, the blue flame in the background is meant to resemble an incorporeal patronus.

In the same way as last round, this graphic moves. Even the 'empty' spaces of black are used to convey the shapelessness of the patronus, very creative! The crisp whiteness of the text matches well with Dumbledore's beard, and is a great contrast to the background. I particularly like the positioning of the right Dumbledore and the blue fog as if it just came out of his wand.

5/5pts - Presentation
4.5/5pts - Accuracy

Maltrix-

The scene I chose for this round is Dumbledore at the Ministry of Magic during the battle with Voldemort.

Bases:
1
, 2

This is a fantastic base of Bellatrix, her agitation and fury is clear, and her body in the running position was a fantastic choice here, her desire to stop Dumbledore and assist He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named clearly explained without the use of words (or text). As in previous rounds, don't be afraid to explore using different dimensions in your graphics, and tinker around with textures and coloring effects

Round Six Scoring:

AmyLeah-
This graphic was so difficult to make as there are so many great scenes to choose from!  I finally decided on this part from the book: "Ron seemed to be positively lighthearted about the end of his relationship with Lavender, and Hermione seemed cheery too, though when asked what she was grinning about she simply said, 'It's a nice day.'" (HBP24)

1, 2, 3, 4

Beautiful text placement! It blends in with the sunshine and Ron's bedsheets, acting as a smooth transition, while simultaneously being eye-catching and the main point of focus. I am also partial to Hermione's expressions here, she looks very peaceful and content in both, which are well fitting with the quote.

4.5/5pts - Presentation

Maltrix-

This is Hermione being upset that she "only" got an E on her Defense Against the Dark Arts O.W.L., despite getting an O on the nine others she took.

Base (only one this time)

I love the base you chose, here, Hermione staring off into space in shock. The red fog around her to separate her from from Ron and Harry and draw more attention to her despair is a nice touch! I only docked points on accuracy this round because although slipping the "E" into the book was very clever, and there's no text within the graphic to explain the scene or what the "E" represents, and it's such a small detail it's easy to miss.

Oh the feels! Why must you hurt me so? I love how each scene is the two of them together, able to stand on its own and support the text, yet are built so that it all flows together flawlessly. This is a beautiful example of using bases similar in coloring to each other to achieve an even tone across the whole graphic without having to do a look of recoloring corrections, very practical. :)

The character I chose is Bellatrix, and the scene I chose is her at the front line of the Death Eaters as they begin their attack on Hogwarts.

Bases: 1, 2

Your cutting/erasing is really improving nicely, Mal. ^_^ Hair is one of the harder things to blend, so I think you did very well with it, especially as Bellatrix has such wild, untamable hair. Just like her passion for darkness and chaos, which is exhibited here very well in your portrayal of this scene. Try fiddling around with the coloring and lighting for a more uniform feel, so when you peice different parts together, they feel whole. It's all about tricking the eye and the mind. ;)
